Oncology/Cancer-CANCER is a disease in which some of the body’s cells grow uncontrollably and spread to other parts of the body. This can start almost everywhere in the body. Normally, cells grow and multiply to form new cells the body needs. This orderliness can sometimes break down and form tumors, which are lumps of tissue. Tumors can be cancerous or not cancerous (benign).

Cancerous tumors spread into, or invade, nearby tissues and can travel to distant places in the body in the form of new tumors. This process is called metastasis. Cancerous tumors may be called malignant tumors. Many cancers form solid tumors, but cancers of the blood, such as leukamias, generally are not.

There are over 100 different types and fomrs of cancer. Cancer of the breast, liver, kidney, bladder, cervix, uterus, prostate, colorectal, brain, lymphoma, leaukemia, etc.
The treatment of these cancers differ from one form to another. Surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy, gammaknife, cyberknife are all different forms of treatment options available fort he different forms of cancer treatment.
